Tesla is still in care 🙁 This energetic fun loving 21 kg girl has been in care for almost 8 months now, and is patiently waiting for her forever family. The amazing staff at Island Canine Care has given her lots of love, structure, training, and days filled with adventure and lots of dog friends. But she would still love her very own home. Tesla’s leg has healed up beautifully, and she can keep up with absolutely anyone! She just turned a year old, so her bad puppy months are behind her. She still needs some leash training, and she really needs a confident person who will make her feel safe, and make her be the very best dog she can be. Tesla listens so well to people who she feels safe with, and who follow through with instructions and expectations. She does tend to walk all over the meeker people though, so dog experience is necessary. If you are the home for this sweet, loving girl, and can provide a happily ever after to one of our long term dogs, please please get a hold of us. If Tesla isn’t right for your home please share her post, as we know her forever family is out there somewhere.

Meet Tesla, a dynamite girl full of fun and love. Tesla was abandoned in a Victoria Dog Park with a broken leg. Victoria Humane Society took her in and she saw the amazing people at Oaklands Vet. They managed to save her leg, but she will always be a bit gimpy. This doesn’t slow her down at all. She loves to play, loves toys, and is bouncy and happy all the time.
Tesla would love a home that can do lots with her, and keep her entertained. Brain games and puzzles keep her focused and working without being hard on her leg. She is still up for an adventure walk several times a day. She just can’t be a biking or running partner, but she doesn’t know that.
Tesla is a perfect size at 21 kgs, and she really wants a home of her own. She gets along with other dogs, but she can be bossy so she needs a well-balanced, gentle dog that she can play with. She is a bit protective of her leg still and doesn’t want to be hurt by another rambunctious dog. Tesla would love to chase cats, and she is way too bouncy for young kids right now. She is just a puppy at seven months, so with some time and patience she could learn to live with anything.
