Gino is a sweet and gentle eight-year-old guy. He’s spent all of his life as a sled dog and has been learning what retirement has to offer!
Initially, Gino was quite stressed and nervous when he came into care but giving him some patience and space to settle in, he has become a completely different dog.
Some words from Gino’s foster:
While he’ll likely never be a cuddly dog, he is super sweet and those eyes get you every time! He runs over for a bit of petting, then scurries away. He could be described as a cat-dog. Gino will be around you, give you some nose nudges, watch you cook in the kitchen, let you pet him, give him kisses on the head, but when he’s had enough, off he goes.
Gino is great walking on leash, housetrained, and doesn’t chew on anything. He loves quiet walks in the forest and has been working on his recall. He has improved his confidence with the help of having another dog around, so a home with a calm doggy friend could be best for Gino.
Gino checks all the boxes; he’s great with dogs, cats, and kids! What’s important for Gino’s forever home is a calm and understanding environment.
Every little achievement Gino makes towards coming into his own will make you smile and your heart will swell. Gino is a 50 pound bundle of quirkiness, but also a brave and loving pup that will flourish in his forever home.
