Do you feel like you’re missing something in your life? Could that something possibly be a new best friend that just happens to be a big ol’ goofball with a heart of gold? Then do we have the pup for you! Meet Forge, a (roughly) three year old, neutered black lab coming in at about 33kgs. Forge is your quintessential lab – he’s incredibly friendly and full of energy, loves to be with his people, and adores getting scritches and cuddles, with a tail that never stops wagging. Luckily, like many labs, Forge is also quite food motivated, which really helps when working on any kind of training. He’s fully house trained, good in his kennel, and knows his basic commands. He’s working on his leash manners and getting better with every walk. Forge has been fantastic with all of the dogs he’s met so far, but due to his prey drive, he will definitely need a home with no cats or small animals. Although he’s quite a sweetheart, because of his size and his energy levels, Forge would do best in a home without very young children as he could quite easily bowl them over when he gets too excited. Speaking of energy levels, Forge is looking for a family that loves activity, one that enjoys hiking, swimming, or enthusiastic marathons of fetch. He’s a boisterous fellow who loves to say hello to any neighbour walking by, so he’s not the most ideal candidate for apartment living. Forge does happen to have allergies, but under a strict diet and daily medication, they’re fully under control and no longer bothering him.
