Got a little time on your hands for love???

When you’re alone, when you go to a wedding and have to line up as a single woman to catch the bouquet (or the garter for those of the male persuasion), do you scatter like a cockroach in the kitchen light when the bouquet heads your way? Does the phrase “Match.com” make you vaguely uneasy? Is commitment hard? If so, we want to talk to you.

Off on date night

We know that committing to anything is hard. It took me thirty years to decide I liked someone enough to marry them. Of course, it was Vegas and there were martini’s involved*, but I’m not here to judge. I’m here to recruit you. The Victoria Humane Society needs the dog-commitment phobes out there to step up and help out a dog.

Sure, your friends are sending you pictures of their new puppies and having dog welcoming parties. We know that icky feeling when you just feel like you’ve been left out somehow. You just haven’t decided on one dog, let alone a second or a third and even though you’ve thought about it, a permanent addition is just not right at the moment. That’s totally OK. We support your position.

So if you are adverse to a long-term commitment, but love dogs, we want to hear from you. We have dogs that need to be an only dog and a commitment-phobic foster is just what the doctor ordered. We supply the dog, you supply a temporary home with no strings attached. It’s rescue with benefits: snuggles on a sofa with no long term demands or expectations.

So commitment phobes, drop us a line. We’re looking for fosters anywhere on the lower half of Vancouver Island

You can apply here: https://www.victoriahumanesociety.com/fost…/apply-to-foster/
Spread the word

without great fosters we can’t take in more dogs ….we need lots of fosters and we need some great fosters without small children, cats (and sometimes no other dogs) so we can continue to help, lots of the dogs that come in have no history so we just need to keep them safe till we can assess them …so please, if you are lonely and want to help save lives…fill out an app!!
#### We would like to take a moment to Thank Big Fluffy Dog for this amazing write up…they gave permission to borrow and share! ####

You are the lifeblood of our work on behalf of animals.

You are the lifeblood of our work on behalf of animals.

As a non-profit organization, the Victoria Humane Society depends entirely on donations from kind-hearted people like you. Every month, we rescue literally dozens of dogs and cats, and sometimes other small animals, many from horrific circumstances such as neglect, starvation and abuse. The associated costs of rescue are significant, from arranging transportation for the animals out of remote communities and into our care, to emergency medical bills to save animals lives, to spay and neuter costs, vaccinations, hospitalizations, medications and on-going food costs and incidentals. Monthly and one-time donors are literally our most critical form of support. We thank you for donating what you can today.
