Wee Nate is just a wee 9 weeks old now but he came close to not making it at all. We rescued Nate (a Husky cross) and his littermates from a remote northern community. 3 of his siblings froze to death while 5 survived. Nate was a close call, and the runt, so he was not doing well competing for warmth and mother’s milk, and we feel he would not have lasted another day had VHS not stepped in. While Nate lost a toe and his eyesight has been damaged by frostbite, he is doing incredibly well and will lead a normal life. His vision is a little cloudy but he’s a sweet and smart little dude who will make a great family member. If you have a heart for Nate or any other of our adult dogs or puppies in care, please fill out our adoption application on our website. And remember, when you support VHS with a donation, you really are saving animals lives. We can’t do it without you!
